Pastry Chef

It could have been the pain au chocolat in France, the biscotti in Italy – or even the Danish in Denmark that made Kelly Urbanoski abandon her accounting career to pursue a life in pastry.  She’ll only say that she ate all of them on a European tour; well, actually her exact words were: “everything in sight”.

After graduating from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in 2005 - in Pastry Arts - Kelly worked at Cupcakes and Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.  She also launched her own business creating custom wedding cakes before joining the team at Joe’s.  In March 2009, Kelly earned her coveted Red Seal Baker certification after completing her apprenticeship at Vancouver Community College.

So, if you’re looking for some extraordinary cake-making for a special event of your own, Kelly’s your girl and Joe Fortes is the place!

CONGRATS GOLDFISHERS

We are happy to announce that our celebrated Sous Chefs Ryan Mah and Curtis Webb have taken the lead at our sister restaurant Goldfish Pacific Kitchen, located in Yaletown.

Ryan Mah is the newly appointed Chef de Cuisine and Curtis Webb is the new Executive Chef at Goldfish.  Together they are team “Super Chefs”.  Be sure to drop by Goldfish and try some of their new creations

Thomas Beetlestone, our Lunch Manager, will also be joining the team at Goldfish - as General Manager.

We wish them happy new beginnings and much success!
